We are preparing for another road trip.

This one will be longer than the first one, from CA to TX. We left the Bay Area Sunday at 6am and hit our ranch near Fredericksburg mid-afternoon Tuesday. We stayed there for about a week before heading back, with a stop to visit my mother in West Texas. Bud drove almost all the time (he loves to drive and I am a lazy bum). Our puppies, Jack and Sophie (see their blog at www.jackandsophie.blogspot.com) are great road-trippers. Here is a recent pic of them 'practicing'.

This trip will be from CA to TX, leisurely this time, with the stop to visit Mother on the way out, an interlude on the ranch, followed by a trip to Pensacola, FL, perhaps Branson, MO, back to the ranch and then home. We are thinking the trip may take a month or more.

And we may have a new member to the family after we leave West Texas. My brother has a yellow lab, Sissy, who had 10 black puppies about 8 weeks ago (see their blog at http://blacklabpuppies.blogspot.com/). They are leaving the nest, four have already been sold, but we may have to take one as a friend for Jack and Sophie. I'm not sure exactly what will happen, we will have to see. Having two labs at a time is pretty time consuming, not to mention expensive. Having a third is almost daunting, and I am fearless.

Nevertheless, we will document our travels here. I'll post pics on the road using my pilot (actually a Treo600, but all Palm OS devices are Pilots to me and my daughter since she got the first version years ago). See y'all on the road!
