Sorry for the delay in posting

but I have been busy. Yes, a whining excuse, but true. We have had a few visitors, my brother and sister-in-law and their son were here this weekend, so cleaning up the dog hair has been a requirement, and the poopers shed lots. We even hung most of the pictures, and finished putting up the towel bars in the bathroom and by the jacuzzi. *whew* We still need to put up the pictures Bud brought back for the hangar, but that is not up there in priority.

What I have been doing is FLYING! And today, I did NOT stink up the sky. Of the 9 or so landings, with a significant crosswind mind you, I did not bounce (multiple landings on one go-around, a time honored tradition for pilots to get their 3 landing requirement with great efficiency) and several were even OK. As my instructor said, he was not shorter today after the lesson. YESSSS! finally, I felt I was flying the (see the little cutie here?) airplane instead of hanging on as it made its way through the sky. I really felt I had the picture, and just need to make a better/smoother transition from leveling off and flare for touchdown.

I am also studying for the written exam and getting ready for my solo and cross country requirements. And, we are taking bridge classes (bummer, I have to study the bidding protocol for tomorrow's class), and will begin Spanish in a week, and we have not studied our math or history for at least a week. Tomorrow morning will be busy even with no flying in the schedule. Plus, we have dinner scheduled in Kerrville with some of our neighbors for Valentine's Day. That will be fun as they are all pilots.

All the critters are doing well. Smokey has decided that a paper box Bud left on the counter is just her style. She sleeps in it and retreats to it when I tell her 'No' as she tries to help us cook.

So if we have to have a box on the counter, I figure we can at least store catalogs in it. So what if they have a few chew-holes in the edges. So she likes to shop, anybody got a problem with that?

Sophie seems to be a little better, she has not been limping quite as much these last couple of days. We're giving her a part of a tablet of pain reliever, but still less than half of the prescribed dosage. But she has a little rash on her elbows and we think it is from being inside the dry house. So she and Jack are being left outside if it is pretty weather, and we seem to be having a few of those interspersed in the cold or foggy days. Not much rain, and we need it. The Pedernales River is low, still not over the road to Fredericksburg.

I really feel conflicted between wanting rain and wanting pretty weather to fly. Yup, pretty weather wins.
