We got to Fredericksburg and are settling in

We are now working on the place, putting up window coverings, getting fill on the drive, getting the lot mowed, etc... The man who is doing the mowing has a young son named Blaze. He liked the pups and really had a good time playing with them while he was waiting for his dad to finish reviewing the work. He was smaller than they, but he really worked to outsmart them! They had a great time together.

They are sometimes getting their exercise by swimming in the Pedernales River as well. They love it and Sophie really gets into romping and playing. We try to rinse them offsome, not really a bath, but they feel clean afterwards.

Our days are pretty mellow for now, working on the house, going to new-found restaurants (some great ones are The Herb Farm and The Nest in Fredericksburg), doing some sightseeing- we drove to Comfort last week on our way to Boerne, exercising (Jack and Sophie are helping Bud with his exercises in the bottom image), and in general, taking it easy. Bud goes for his physical next week, he'll fly commercial to Pensacola and back, and after a few last days here, we'll head to Mother's for a few days ( I need to really understand the books on the oil lease business), then home.

Not really looking forward to going back to CA after this idyllic time. With the current arrangements in the CA business, we are really feeling confident that our trips are not imposing a hardship on the folks there. It is a good feeling for Bud, who had not taken trips longer than a week before. We will have been gone over two months by the time this one is over. =;)
