We've been invited to the Doolittle Raiders' Luncheon!!!

Mazie Hill called a couple of days ago to invite us to the regular luncheon the Doolittle Raiders hold, scheduled for San Antonio on the 18th this year. Just to get calls from Mazie [Mrs. 'Tex' Hill] is an honor in itself, but to be able to attend this luncheon, well....

Bud said there were to be 7 of the original Raiders in attendance, the rest were either not well enough to attend or had passed away. You probably know their story, but if you do not, check out the movie, 'Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo' with Van Johnson as Ted Lawson and Spencer Tracy as Colonel Jimmy Doolittle. We believe Thatcher will be there.

Then Bud immediately went to the closet to select his outfit. We sent things to the cleaners, and I'm ordering a new suit! We also made a call to the kid, asking her to go to the house in CA to get [one of] Bud's copies of the book "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" and Doolittle's biography, "I Could Never Be So Lucky Again" [the title refers to being married to his wife, not the raid, how lovely] to FedEx to us here. Perhaps we can get some signatures if not too intrusive. This is sooooo cooool! I am so lucky to be married to this man, and then, getting to do these things with him.
